official forgetting machine no. 02

what do you want to forget?

This stays in your browser. It is never saved, sent, or remembered.

What is this

The Forgetting Machine is a small online ceremony from tinythings.fun for letting things go. Write what you want to release — a worry, a regret, a grudge, a name — and the machine gently and permanently destroys it. Nothing is saved. Nothing is recoverable. Just the ritual.

Why we built it

Digital life doesn't let us forget. Everything is saved, searchable, retrievable. That's convenient — but sometimes forgetting is the point. The Forgetting Machine is a small, sincere place to practise release. We built it because some things deserve an ending.

How to use it

  1. Type what you want to let go of. Be as specific or as vague as you need.
  2. Take a breath.
  3. Press 'forget'.
  4. Watch it go.
  5. It's gone. The machine holds no record.
