The Infinite Obituary generates a new fictional life story every day — someone who was born, lived, loved, struggled, and left something behind. Each obituary is complete: a full human life, composed fresh each morning, and gone by tomorrow. A different goodbye every day.

Why we built it
The obituary is one of the most underrated forms of writing. In a few hundred words it has to do everything: establish a person, their world, their loves, their losses, their significance. We wanted a machine that practised that form — endlessly, quietly, every day. A life a day, until further notice.
How to use it
Visit the page to read today's obituary.
Read it slowly — this person won't exist again tomorrow.
Come back the next day for a different life.
Reflect on what it means to have a story that ends.
Questions
Are these real people?
No. The obituaries are entirely fictional, generated fresh each day. Any resemblance to real individuals is coincidental.
Does it change every day?
Yes. A new obituary is generated daily. Yesterday's is gone.
Can I share an obituary?
Yes, but your recipient will need to visit on the same day — the obituary changes the next morning.
